Just a small image to show ore levels.

I suggest a semi regular refresh of the starter planets (I wouldn't mind some refreshing of Retraiv since some Basta . . . . person, drilled out underneath my auto miners . . . ) but this is for new players who are struggling. on the starter planets and ONLY can find resources either fake, or in faction areas that they risk faction hits to take.

The moons lacking Cobalt is actually the worst. its the first mid tier needed and just doesn't seem to exist many places anymore on the starters. this has lead to a LOT of frustration for some new players.

While I wouldnt think as often as weekly is necessary, but perhaps a monthly reset of starter sector ores? Something that changes it from impossible back to challenging. I dont think it should be something that you can make a starter a permanent home either.

Maybe ore refresh could routinely occur every 2 weeks possibly? I have been thinking that all the starter planets could be setup with regular renewals, say, weekly. The caveat to that would be a one way ticket though. In otherwords, maybe after a set time the players would need to leave the planet or at a minimum, not be able to reenter the planet once they have left. I am not sure at this point how to motivate a player to leave an ore rich planet. One would think that if only enough types were available that a player would have to eventually leave the planet in search of different ores for bigger and better building and creation.

It appears easy enough to replenish planets and moons as well as asteroids using the tool to monitor levels. It really is not that hard but it is time consuming. Normally one relies on asteroids once ore depletion occurs as a more automated method but there are other choices. I just don't want to turn the replacements into a full time job either. I am thinking out loud at the moment as I really don't know how A12 will affect everything so I suppose things would be subject to change at this point.

The common approach for many servers is to have the starter planets have full resets on a regular basis this prevents players from living there because their base will be Wiped when the ores are replenished.

Anything else is a based on player honor. First has a policy that once were established we vacate the starter planets as they're not meant for us.

A few other players have adopted this policy as well.

This includes raiding. Unless we're helping out a new player to take out said base

I'm curious how we can convey to people that within 30 days they would be fully expected to vacate a planet. Especially those that only get on a few hours a week. Need to find balance.

well you already have one auto message, regarding the forums here. Not sure if it can be added to that or included with the same message.

Granted the way most new players find out these things is asking in chat so its MOST important that the helpful regulars know.

Will it wipe out water collectors? the ones you place in water.

It would on the wiped planets but then the goal would be to get people to move along. I’m thinking A12 is going to add quite a few additional options and hopefully an intelligent option to create a progression toward leaving the planet. Maybe the planet should have a sun that goes supernova or the planet is “consumed” by a black hole.

It is my partial understanding the the regeneration issues we HAVE been having are due to Eleon disabling certain regeneration options in prep for A12

Thanks - I will move them when you are going to wipe

We really need to setup prior to updating. I assume we will need to once A12 releases as there will be far too many changes otherwise that likely will conflict.
